My blog “ Genise Park Designs”  is a journal of my creative self whether it be my drawings, paintings, weavings or quilts.  I love color and am totally inspired by Nature.  Creativity is nothing I shy away from, like picking out pastels for drawings to choosing a harmonious group of fabrics for a quilt.  I am always curious and want to see what happens. 

Quilting

I have been sewing since I was really young and I owe much of my sewing experience to my grandmother.  At first, I would sew just small things for dolls, then as I got older it became clothes for myself, then later for my immediate family.  As time passed, I stepped away from clothing and into the arena of quilting as I loved sewing but did not want to continue making clothes. I love quilting all aspects of it from choosing fabric to finishing.  

Weaving

I have been weaving for over 30 years, learning this craft from my mother-in-law.  Who was a great seamstress and quilter as well.  The process of weaving has a big place in my heart.

Painting and Drawing

At times much of what I craft is very calculated and when I draw or paint there are no measurements to be had.  It is pure freedom to explore.  I love the juiciness of paint and the soft lipstick-like texture of oil pastel.   This is the simplest way I get to play with color.
